Application of circular finned tube heat exchanger with combined pipe diameter to air conditioner

Studies the airflow of air side and heat exchange performance of a new finned tube heat exchanger with 4 small diameter tubes using the software Fluent, and compares with a slit three-fold finned tube heat exchanger. The numerical simulation results show that heat exchange capacity of the new one is increased by 0 to 1.75% and the pressure drop is increased by 2.42% to 4.86% under the different operating conditions. The experimental results show that the COP of the two heat exchangers are almost the same, but the copper materials consumption of the new heat exchanger is saved by 5.8%.
